The Officiant introduces the Confession of Sin with these (or similar) Scriptures.

Let us now, with humility, call to mind our sins.

A time of silence is kept for personal reflection and confession.

All kneel (as able).

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt, and purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. O Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a loyal spirit within me. Don't banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

The Officiant, still kneeling, offers the following prayer.

Merciful Father,
grant us your pardon and peace,
that we may be cleansed from all our sins,
and serve you with mind and heart renewed.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

All stand.

Where it is the custom, a Sign of Peace may be exchanged.

Let us profess our Christian faith in the words of the _____ Creed.

The Nicene Creed
Solemnities and Feasts  -  Christmas through Baptism of our Lord  -  Easter through Trinity Sunday

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven, and of earth, and of all things – seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of his Father before all the ages. God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God; begotten, not created; of one Essence with the Father through whom all things were made. For us, and for our salvation, he came down from heaven. He was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary and became truly human. * For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again, in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who, with the Father and the Son, is worshipped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed
Advent  -  Epiphanytide through Passiontide  -  Trinitytide

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The traditional text "and became man" refers not to gender but to Christ’s human nature.

The word catholic refers to the universal Christian Church, and not to a specific denomination.

Let us now come before the Lord with humility
as we prepare to receive the Sacrament of his Body and Blood.

When deemed pastorally appropriate,
one of the following invitations may extended.

As we ready ourselves to come to the Table of our Master and Lord, we invite all baptized and professing Christians who have sincerely repented of their sins and believe that Christ’s Body and Blood are present in and through the consecrated Bread and Cup are invited to join in this Sacred Meal. If for any reason you do not wish to receive Communion, you are welcome to depart now if you prefer, or to remain and receive a blessing as others receive the Sacrament.

OR

Our fellow baptized Christians of other branches of Christ's Church who have been admitted to our Lord's Table in their own churches are affectionately invited to join us at the Table of the Lord. Those who do not wish to receive Communion are welcome to depart, or to present themselves for a blessing during the distribution of the Sacrament.

The assembly is seated.

If an offering is to be taken, it is collected at this time.

A hymn may be sung.

The Officiant genuflects before the Altar and unveils the Eucharist.

T H E   C O M M U N I O N   P R A Y E R

When all is ready, the Officiant bows or kneels before the altar, and offers the following prayer.

Good Jesus, true bishop and shepherd of our souls, in union with our Bishop, ___, and your Church throughout the world, we gather together - suppliants at your Altar - in obedience to your command; for, on the night of your betrayal, you instituted the Eucharistic Mystery with the words, "This is my Body," and "This is my Blood," and declared that they were given and shed "For the forgiveness of sins."

Look upon us now as we prepare to receive your Body and Blood. Unite us with all of our brothers and sisters in every time and place, and fill us with your heavenly grace, that inspired by your sacrificial love and sustained by the indwelling of the Spirit, we may always abide in your mercy and find ourselves strengthened by your love.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Allow me never to be separated from you.

From the malicious enemy, defend me.
In the hour of my death, call me,
and bid me come to you,
that, with your angels and saints,
I may praise you for ever and ever.

Amen.

Come now; all is prepared. Enter into the joy of your Lord.

The Officiant and the people receive Communion.

Hymns, songs, and anthems may be sung during the distribution of Communion.

Following the reception of Communion, the Eucharist is returned to the Altar and veiled.

T H E   L O R D ’ S   P R A Y E R

The assembly stands.

And now, having been nourished by the life-giving Body and Blood of Christ,
let us complete our prayer to the Lord,
commending our entire life to the Father in the words our Savior has taught us.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Let your kingdom come.
Let your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from the evil one.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
now and forever.
Amen.
