The celebrant begins:
Let us now offer our prayer of intercession on behalf of all.
A deacon or other minister continues.
The response Lord, have mercy may be made by the assembly after each paragraph.
O God, Creator and Preserver of the whole human race, we offer our humble prayer to you on behalf of all sorts and conditions of people; that you would be pleased to make your ways known unto them, your saving health unto all nations.
More especially we pray for your holy Church universal; that she may be so guided and governed by your good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life.
Likewise, we pray the peace of the world; for a spirit of respect and forbearance to grow among nations and peoples; and that those in positions of public trust may serve justice and promote the dignity and freedom of every person.
Mercifully behold all who find themselves in any way afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, spirit, or circumstance. Comfort and relieve them, each according to their specific challenges and needs. Grant them patience amid their sufferings, and a happy deliverance from every affliction.
Finally, we commend to your goodness all who have died in the communion of your Church, and those whose faith is known to you alone, that, together with the Blessed Virgin Mary and all your saints, they may find their rest that place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal.
The celebrant concludes:
