The Hippolytian Intercession

  The Celebrant begins:

Most merciful Father,
you are full of love and you are faithful to the promises you have made from ages past.
We now entrust to you the prayers and petitions we make for the needs of all.

The Intercessor continues:

FOR THE CHURCH

Remember your Church throughout the world: help us to grow in faith, hope, and love, together with our fellow believers, and with all who serve you in apostolic ministry [especially...].

FOR THE NATION AND THE WORLD

Remember all who labor for peace, equity, and justice in our own land and throughout the world, [especially...], and grant that all people may find their basic needs met through the responsible stewardship of the resources of the Earth.

FOR THE NEEDS OF THE LIVING

Remember the needs of this congregation,
of those whom we love,
and of those with whose lives ours are closely linked,
especially those for whom we now pray.

The Intercessor may now read aloud the Diptychs for the Living,
or the assembly may quietly speak the names of those for whom they wish to pray.

FOR THE DEPARTED

Remember our brothers and sisters
who have gone to their rest in the hope of rising again;

especially those whom we remember now…

The Intercessor may now read aloud the Diptychs for the Departed,
or the assembly may quietly speak the names of those for whom they wish to pray.

Bring them, and all the departed, into the light of your presence.

FOR OUR FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SAINTS

Have mercy on us all:
make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary,
the virgin mother of Jesus Christ, our Lord and God,
with the apostles, the martyrs ...

The Intercessor commemorates the patron and festal saints as appropriate.

... and all the saints who have done your will from age to age.

The Celebrant concludes:

All this we ask, Father,
together with those things which are needful to us
- body, mind, and spirit -
through the merits and mediation of your beloved Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
