The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
Father, you are holy indeed: the fountain of all holiness and the source of every good and perfect gift.
The Celebrant's hands are spread over the Gifts.
Let your Holy Spirit fall upon these gifts like a gentle dew, that they may + become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Celebrant takes the bread.
On the night before he suffered, Jesus took bread into his sacred hands, and looking heavenward, to you, his almighty Father, he gave thanks and said the blessing. He then broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
The Celebrant takes the cup.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the cup into his sacred hands. Once again, he gave thanks and said the blessing. He then gave the cup to his disciples and said:
Remembering his Death and Resurrection, we offer you this life-giving Bread and saving Cup, giving you thanks for making us worthy to stand in your presence and to serve you as your priestly people.
The Celebrant briefly joins hands and bows, touching the edge of the Altar,
before standing upright and making the sign of the cross.
Gather as one all who share in this Eucharist,
and grant us the fullness of the + Holy Spirit,
that our faith may be strengthened with your truth.
The Celebrant briefly bows and strikes the breast.
In your compassion, cleanse us from the stain of sin and grant, in the fullness of time, that we may enter the everlasting heritage of your sons and daughters, through the merits and mercies of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ - the Firstborn of all Creation, the Head of the Church, and the Author of our Salvation.
Elevating the Consecrated Gifts, the Celebrant concludes with the Doxology:
Through him, with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honor is yours, Almighty Father, for ever and ever.
Amen.
