Intercessions - Form A

The Celebrant begins:

Most merciful Father,
you are full of love and you are faithful to the promises you have made from ages past.
We now entrust to you the prayers and petitions we make for the needs of all.

The Intercessor continues:

FOR THE CHURCH

Unite your Church in common mission mission throughout the world, together with all of our baptized brothers and sisters, and with all who labor in apostolic ministry, [especially...].

FOR THE NATION AND THE WORLD

Likewise unite the people of our nation, and the nations of the world, in seeking what is life-giving and just for all; and guide the deliberations of those who are entrusted with civil leadership, [especially...].

FOR THE NEEDS OF THE LIVING AND THE DEPARTED

In your goodness, Father, be present:

with those who rejoice...
with those who sorrow...
with those who are in need...
with those who are struggling...
with those who are sick...
with those who have died...
and with those who mourn....

The Intercessor may, after each of the preceding biddings, read aloud the Diptychs appropriate to the bidding,
or the assembly may quietly speak the names of those for whom they wish to pray.

Sustain all for whom we pray
with your everlasting gifts of faith, hope, and love.

FOR OUR FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SAINTS

Lead each of us to find inspiration and hope in the lives of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
the apostles, the martyrs...

The Intercessor commemorates the patron and festal saints as appropriate.

... and all those who, in every age, have sought to do your will.

The Celebrant concludes:

Unite us together, Father, as one body,
echoing one prayer,
for the redemption and welfare of all.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
